Line Dancing with Your Hiring Candidate – “Kick Ball Change” those Thank You Emails

Here’s what I know about line dancing…

[cue crickets]

….Not much!

I’ve heard it’s great exercise. People wear boots and old ladies might show up in denim skirts adorned with white cotton lace and a flurry of rhinestones.

People dance in a square. Or is that square-dancing?

Suffice it to say this:

Hiring is its own type of dance. There are so many opportunities throughout the process for candidates to show they have the moves or trip and fall on their faces.

Unfortunately, a minor trip can happen early.

But, is it really that big of a deal?

Should it be considered a red flag?

What is it?

It’s the “thank you” email!

Typos in thank you emails, to be exact.

What do we do with these? We really liked “dancing” with this candidate so far, they looked great on paper, and now what?

Is it a “two steps forward and one step back” kind of deal? Or a deal-breaker?
