Do you feel like the whole financial services industry employment environment has gone mad?

You aren’t the only one.

This hiring environment has been…well, unique, to say the least.

There are tons of qualified candidates out there to help fill the roles at your advisory firm, but they’re AWOL.

So where are they?

At the start of the pandemic, many of them were too nervous to move jobs. Everyone hunkered down, not knowing what tomorrow would bring. Uncertainty kept many candidates stagnant.

But, like the rest of the world, they are starting to get out and see what’s available.

If you’re an advisory firm looking to hire, you’ll want to strike while the iron is hot.

Some employers aren’t offering good enough benefits packages while others aren’t offering flexibility on working from home.

The result? Candidates are seeing what’s out there.

So, let’s just say you’re one of the lucky ones who gets a handful of people that respond to your job posting you actually really like. Or at least, like enough to consider hiring.

But there were a couple problems or snafus in the hiring process along the way.

Maybe they had a typo in their thank you email. Maybe their resume wasn’t well-formatted. What are you to do? Their interviews went great and you feel in your GUT they could be a great fit.

Watch this video. These are what we call “Fence Candidates” in the biz and here’s how we handle them:

Now, I will warn you, there is a problem inherent in hiring people yourself that presents itself swimmingly here with fence candidates.

You are biased. You are biased because of your own history, your own sense of urgency, and your own personal hang-ups—whatever those are.

So, guess what? Sifting through fence candidates becomes more like high stakes gambling than an objective process.

It’s not your fault. We are all wired this way. Our own histories and experiences cloud our judgement.

So how do you eliminate these biases and eliminate some of this hiring risk?

Let an objective party do the hiring for you. Ahem! That’d be me.

I have six years of experience successfully matching Advisors with key personnel from senior advisors to junior advisors, client service associates, bookkeepers, and every role in between.

I make the whole process easy by managing it all for you. In fact, applicants won’t even be contacting your office, so you can focus on driving your advisory business forward.

Getting a consultation on your hire is completely free.

So, for those of you who’d rather let an expert handle the hiring (so you can regain your time and your sanity and avoid hiring based on biases that could cloud your judgement), it’s time for YOU to get off the fence and grab some time on my calendar below.

Let’s get you the help you need without risking more of your time and money on another bad hire.
